Early Life and Career

Brett Lorenzo Favre was born on October 10, 1969, in Gulfport, Mississippi. He played college football at Southern Mississippi University before being drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the second round of the 1991 NFL Draft. Favre was traded to the Green Bay Packers in 1992, where he would spend the majority of his career and become one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.

Green Bay Packers Era

Favre led the Packers to victory in Super Bowl XXXI against the New England Patriots, the team's first Super Bowl win in almost three decades. He set numerous NFL records, including most consecutive games played (299) and most passing yards and touchdowns. Favre was a nine-time Pro Bowler and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2016.

New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings

After leaving the Packers, Favre had brief stints with the New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings. He led the Vikings to the NFC Championship Game in 2009, where they lost to the New Orleans Saints. Favre retired from the NFL after the 2010 season.

Legacy

Brett Favre is considered one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. He has been ranked among the top five quarterbacks in NFL history by numerous publications. Favre's longevity, toughness, and playmaking ability made him a fan favorite and one of the most successful quarterbacks in NFL history.
